MACRO Outreach for the U.S. Recycling Economic Information Study

MACROThe Mid-America Council of Recycling Officials (MACRO) includes members from fourteen states and works to develop  regionally effective programs and policies in recycling, recycling market development, and source reduction. MACRO supports the groundbreaking U.S. Recycling Economic Information Study, that measures the economic impact of the reuse and recycling industry. The study was commissioned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and twenty states, including nine MACRO states, through a cooperative agreement with the National Recycling Coalition.

Results can be downloaded from the National Recycling Coalition website. Links to state efforts, contact information, and an outreach toolkit including fact sheets, press releases, and presentations are available on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Jobs Through Recycling website

To promote the results, MACRO has developed these public service announcements through a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. State market development officials and others at the state and local level are encouraged to use these interviews and general PSAs (Neighbors, Investment) in their area. Please contact Kristin Allan at 573.526.5555 or email her for more information.
